SUTTER ROOFING LANDS MAJOR CONTRACTS AT TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTBack to main gallery

Sutter Roofing was recently awarded the roofing and sheet metal contracts on the largest construction project in Tampa Bay history at Tampa International Airport. Sutter is working with Skanska Construction on the Main Terminal Expansion and with The Beck Group/Austin Commercial on the Consolidated Rental Car Facility and Automated People Mover Expansion. The $953 million property expansion will require over 1,000 construction workers every day just in January and February of this year.  “This project marks the start of one of the busiest periods in the airport’s three-year capital program,” said airport CEO Joe Lopano.

Sutter Roofing will be installing over 200,000 square feet of modified bitumen roofing and over 230,000 square feet of standing seam metal roofing for the combined projects. The cumulative project value is over $6 million and is expected to take Sutter Roofing over 50,000 man hours to complete by spring of 2017.  Sutter Roofing President Doug Sutter added “This is a great project for us with long-term customers that know they can count on us to deliver a quality and timely installation. Our local Tampa workforce is very excited to be a part of this tremendous project for our region.”
